Birth Designs was founded in 2001 when leading up to the birth of Founder, Bonnie's child, she could not find the jewelry or greeting card designs she wanted in order to express the joy she was feeling. Later, she was again frustrated when she could not find a quality "nursing necklace" (a necklace worn when breastfeeding or bottle-feeding a child to help distract and entertain little hands). Her passion renewed as she began researching and testing different stones, designs, and stringing materials that were suitable for nursing necklaces. Today, she is proud to offer much-tested, beautiful, and functional nursing necklaces in a variety of styles - including her own patent pending convertible necklaces!
